Please join me for a solo exhibition in the “Window Gallery” at Columbia Art Center. “Simultaneous Realities” explores the expressive potential of watercolor as medium and the portrait as subject. Realistic imagery interweaves with chaotic fields of color and texture.

Learn how to build layers of warm and cool washes over a preliminary drawing to create naturalistic skin tones and build the illusion of three dimensional form, creating lively and expressive portrait paintings in watercolor. This class will include step by step demonstrations and the opportunity to work on personally directed pieces with assistance and critique.

Learn to balance fundamental skills and observation with expressiveness and experimentation in watercolor. Follow the weekly themed assignment, or bring in your independent project.
